2011 SIFE National Champion - Memorial Universtiy of Newfoundland
SIFE is a global, non-profit organization that is literally changing the world through highly dedicated student teams on more than 1,500 university campuses in 39 countries. ACE operates the SIFE program in Canada. This partnership enables students to take their experiences to an international level. Each year, the SIFE National Champion will represent Canada at the SIFE World Cup, held in various cities around the world. SIFE projects provide student teams with the opportunity to develop leadership, team building and communication skills by teaching the principles of free enterprise, and in turn, they are improving the quality of life and standard of living for millions of people. Through educational, entrepreneurial outreach initiatives, students make a difference in their community by helping people develop a better understanding of how our free enterprise system works and how to use this information to empower themselves and achieve new successes. Students learn more by teaching others through the use of hands on learning activities. The best way to help a person in the long run is to equip and inspire them to use their natural talents to the best of their abilities. In doing so, it is helping to fulfill our mission of advancing Canadian entrepreneurship. Teams have the opportunity to share their SIFE accomplishments by participating in the SIFE National Competition.
TD SIFE ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGE
The TD SIFE Entrepreneurship Challenge is a SIFE team based topic competition operated by ACE and made possible with support from TD Bank Financial Group. The purpose of this national initiative is to encourage SIFE teams to assist aspiring entrepreneurs when considering entrepreneurship as a viable career option and to work directly with local businesses to help improve their operations, profitability, creation of jobs, and on a whole - build a stronger Canadian econonmy. The Scotiabank & SIFE Go Green Challenge is a SIFE team based topic competition operated by ACE and made possible with the support of Scotiabank. The purpose of this Challenge is to encourage SIFE teams to develop projects that provide others with the knowledge required to make positive environmental decisions, both in their personal and professional lives, while keeping a focus on the creation of economic opportunity. SIFE FINANCIAL EDUCATION CHALLENGE
The SIFE Financial Education Challenge is a SIFE team based topic competition operated by ACE. The purpose of this national initiative is to encourage SIFE teams to develop projects that deliver relevant financial education to others in an effort to improve their ability to make informed financial decisions.
