OUR STORY
Founded 25 years ago, Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship or ACE is a national, charitable organization dedicated to teaching and igniting young Canadians to create brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
Through a collaborative partnership between industry and higher education, ACE delivers programming that provides university and college students access to real world experience that complements in-class studies.
Ultimately, students make a meaningful contribution to their communities today, while also discovering their true potential to achieve an ever greater impact as the entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow.
ABOUT OUR STUDENTS IN FREE ENTERPRISE PROGRAM
Our flagship program, Students In Free Enterprise or SIFE, encourages students to form teams on their campus and apply business concepts learned in the classroom to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. Annual national competitions provide a forum for these teams to present the results of their projects, and to be evaluated by industry leaders serving as judges.
The national champion team advances to represent Canada at the prestigious SIFE World Cup. SIFE is an international movement, currently operating in 38 countries, on 1,500 academic institutions and with direct involvement of over 57,000 students worldwide.
ABOUT OUR STUDENT ENTREPRENEUR PROGRAM
Our founding program, Student Entrepreneur, aims to accelerate the potential of full-time students operating a business providing them with relevant, valuable hands-on experience, increased confidence and access to new opportunities otherwise unavailable to them. Annual national competitions provide a platform for these students to showcase their business achievements, demonstrate their perseverance as an entrepreneur and communicate plans for the future of their enterprise. Panels of entrepreneurs and industry experts serve as judges to determine the national champion.
For those that excel in competition, they are invited to represent Canada at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, presented by the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, involving youth from more than 20 countries.

With the support our industry and academic partners, ACE brings together generations of leaders to help build a better Canada through the positive power of business, as demonstrated by the following key milestones from last year alone:
• 1,981 active students engaged, representing 61 universities and colleges
• 181 business ventures and 497 entrepreneurial community outreach projects delivered
• 257 full-time and 390 part-time jobs created
• 94,484 people impacted
• $12 million+ estimated value of economic activity generated
After over two decades in operation, ACE has grown to be a movement involving real people, real solutions and real results, unleashing the leadership potential of youth and ensuring the future of Canada is in good hands.
