- Be a founder and have at least 50% ownership of the company and be responsible for its operation

What does an applicant have to include in their submission? The application is made up of questions that follow the judging criteria used for all rounds of the competition. An application form will be provided to nominees in their application package. Student entrepreneurs are encouraged to be creative and innovative with their answers and to contact the SIFE teams on their campus (if one exists) to support all applicants from their school through the process. The application process includes: - The completed application form (provided to all nominees via email)
- A letter of recommendation from a professor, client or business associate
- Documentation proving fulltime status at a Canadian post secondary institution.
How many student entrepreneurs can I nominate? You can nominate as many student entrepreneurs as you would like. Provincial champions are chosen based on the quality of their application, not on the number of nominations they receive. That being said, history has shown that the more a student is nominated, the more likely they are to submit an application. So get out there and nominate eligible students!
Why should I nominate a student entrepreneur (or myself if I am a student entrepreneur)? It is important to recognize the success of student entrepreneurs. This competition provides a forum for student entrepreneurs to grow, develop and showcase their or your businesses. For SIFE teams; nominating, engaging, and supporting student entrepreneurs can be beneficial as it can be the foundation for exciting SIFE projects.
