Grand Barachois (February 25, 2009) – Alexis Belliveau, owner of The Lawn Enforcers and full time student at The Université de Moncton, has been named the 2009 New Brunswick Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion by national charitable organization, Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship “ACE” and proud program supporter, CIBC.
Since 2007, Alexis, an Administration student, has owned and operated The Lawn Enforcers, a growing law care business that offers mowing (with bag), trimming, blowing and fertilizer.
Operating Lawn Enforcers has provided Alexis with the opportunity to:
· Double his profits from his first to second year of operation · Service 60 lots- a 15% increase in the second season · Learn the importance of business ethics, efficiency and setting realistic goals.
“Entrepreneurship has always triggered my curiosity, which is why I gave myself this challenge at a young age,” says Alexis. “Since then my determination and hard work has enabled The Lawn Enforcers to grow remarkably. I am eager to accelerate this expansion in different directions, especially after obtaining my business degree”.
The regional round of competition will take place at the 2009 ACE Regional Exposition in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 6th 2009. Provincial Champions will each present their business to a live panel of business professionals who will decide the two Regional Champions, who will each receive a $1,000 cash prize and move on to the final round of competition taking place at the 2009 ACE National Exposition in Toronto on May 6th, 2009. The National Champion will be named and will receive a $10,000 cash prize and represent Canada at the international level of competition, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, if he or she qualifies.
