TORONTO, ON (Thursday, November 12, 2009) - ACE led the largest number of entrepreneurial events during Global Entrepreneurship Week, which took place November 16 to 22, 2009. Over 300 post secondary students from across Canada simultaneously executed 128 local community focused entrepreneurial activities. This made up 46% of all Global Entrepreneurship Week events that happened throughout Canada.
The goal of ACE’s involvement was to raise awareness for the important role that post secondary student teams are playing in the development of an entrepreneurial culture across our country. When students involved with ACE graduate from their respected institution, they are top recruits for major corporations and the next generation of great Canadian entrepreneurs.
Highlighted activities included: • In Alberta - a University of Calgary team led six events including a Donald Trump style 12 hour apprentice challenge. • In Ontario - A St. Lawrence College team led 11 events including a young entrepreneur’s workshop series with a “Dragon’s Den” style participant’s presentation. • In Quebec - A Concordia University team led five events including the opening of a Business Incubator to assist local young entrepreneurs. • In Nova Scotia - A Saint Anne University team led four events including an interactive workshop on how to take your business to the next level.
“We are excited to have led the largest number of entrepreneurial events across Canada”, explains ACE President Amy Harder . “ACE is actively creating a new generation of industry leaders who are socially responsible and entrepreneurial minded - this is an opportunity to showcase their talents.”
