St. FX student named 2010 Student Entrepreneur Nova Scotia Champion
02.09.2010

Halifax, NS (Wednesday, February 10, 2010) - Jeremy Flynn, owner of Flynnweb and full time student at St. Francis Xavier University, has been named the 2010 Student Entrepreneur Nova Scotia Champion by national charitable organization, Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) and proud program supporter, CIBC.

Since 2008, Jeremy has owned and operated Flynnweb, a web and graphic design firm, specializing in building brands and affordable marketing material for the small business owner. Core competencies include services such as logo and stationary design, marketing campaigns, website systems and developments, and any other facet that can help a firm stand out from the competition.

One of Jeremy's largest business accomplishments to date is the company’s transition into an effectively lean production structure in a relatively short time. This has provided Flynnweb with the opportunity to increase capacity and increase growth over the long-term. Flynnweb now manages over 10 contract-based production teams across the globe.

"I think I speak on behalf of many when I say ACE is a strong helping hand, building business foundations in eager and excited students across the country”, comments Owner of Flynnweb, Jeremy Flynn. “I'm very appreciative and hope that this is only the beginning of a successful career in the ever-changing, ever-hectic world of business."

As a provincial champion, Jeremy will now move on to represent Nova Scotia in the regional round of competition taking place at the 2010 ACE Regional Exposition in Halifax on February 26, 2010. Provincial Champions will each present their business to a panel of entrepreneurs and industry professionals who will determine two Regional Champions, who will each receive a $1,000 cash prize and move on to the final round of competition at the 2010 ACE National Exposition in Calgary on May 12th, 2010. The National Champion will receive a $10,000 cash prize and represent Canada at the international level of competition, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.

“With today’s ever changing economic situation, ACE is proud to continue its work developing leaders, creating connections and impacting communities, explains President of ACE, Amy Harder    . Our 2010 Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champions will no doubt contribute meaningfully to the Canadian economy for years to come.”
