McGill University students named 2010 Student Entrepreneur Quebec Champion
02.09.2010

Montreal, QC (Wednesday, February 10, 2010) – Daniel Cohen and Mark Sadaka, co-owners of Sentrig and full time students at McGill University, have been named the 2010 Student Entrepreneur Quebec Champion by national charitable organization, Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) and proud program supporter, CIBC.

Since 2008, Daniel and Mark have co-owned and operated Sentrig, a company that offers marketers an innovative, eye catching technology to promote their products. The feature product, used for poster advertisements, is a backlit billboard that doubles as a mirror when someone walks by it.

Daniel and Mark’s largest business accomplishments to date include selling 100 units within the first year of business, grossing over $30,000 in revenue and having the opportunity to pitch to industry leaders such as L’Oreal, Astral Media and Clear Channel Outdoor.

“ACE prides itself on rewarding entrepreneurs who have worked hard at making their vision become a reality”, comments Co-owner of Sentrig, Daniel Cohen. “We are honoured to have won an award from such a prestigious organization, and we plan on channelling this added motivation towards our company’s success.”

As a provincial champion, Daniel and Mark will now move on to represent Quebec in the regional round of competition taking place at the 2010 ACE Regional Exposition in Toronto on March 8, 2010. Provincial Champions will each present their business to a panel of entrepreneurs and industry professionals who will determine two Regional Champions, who will each receive a $1,000 cash prize and move on to the final round of competition at the 2010 ACE National Exposition in Calgary on May 12th, 2010. The National Champion will receive a $10,000 cash prize and represent Canada at the international level of competition, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.

“With today’s ever changing economic situation, ACE is proud to continue its work developing leaders, creating connections and impacting communities, explains President of ACE, Amy Harder. Our 2010 Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champions will no doubt contribute meaningfully to the Canadian economy for years to come.”
